President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman and business mogul Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata in Kano. He described the nonagenarian as a towering figure of humility, integrity, and philanthropy who lived a life devoted to the service of humanity and the progress of Nigeria.

Reflecting on his personal connection with the late industrialist, President Tinubu recounted the spiritual and moral support he received from Alhaji Dantata during the 2023 presidential campaign. “This visit is deeply personal to me. He was not only a national figure but a member of my family. I visited him before the election to seek his prayers, and he gave me his blessings. I promised to return in gratitude, but he came to Abuja instead. That was his nature, humble, selfless, and sincere,” the President said.

The President extolled the virtues of the departed elder, praising his lifelong commitment to honesty, compassion, and community. “If friendship exists in the hereafter, Alhaji Dantata would be there feeding the hungry and comforting the sick. He lived for others. We have lost a conscience of the nation. May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” he prayed.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, speaking on behalf of the people, expressed deep appreciation to the President for his empathy and unwavering support during the mourning period. He highlighted President Tinubu’s role in facilitating arrangements for the late Dantata’s burial in Medina, including sending a federal delegation led by the Minister of Defence and his earlier dispatch of Vice President Kashim Shettima for condolence.

“We are grateful for your leadership and compassion,” Governor Yusuf said. “Despite your busy schedule, you made time to visit personally. May Allah strengthen you and grant you success in leading Nigeria.”

The eldest son of the deceased, Alhaji Tajudeen Aminu Dantata, thanked the President for standing by the family. He said, “You were close to him in life and have honoured him in death. Your actions speak louder than words. On behalf of our family, we thank you sincerely.”

Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata passed away in Dubai on Saturday June 28 2025 at the age of 94 and was buried in Medina Saudi Arabia on July 1 2025.
