The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has convened a strategic meeting ahead of major electoral activities, including the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election, the Area Council election in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and party primaries for the Ekiti and Osun State governorship polls.

Presiding over the meeting, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, assured the people of Anambra State of a transparent and credible election.

The Commission also approved the promotion of 471 junior staff members for the year 2025, following recommendations from the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee, in line with the staff conditions of service.
