The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has directed the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to immediately withdraw and deactivate passports belonging to Nigerians who have formally renounced their citizenship.

The directive applies specifically to individuals whose renunciation of Nigerian citizenship has been officially approved by the President.

The Ministry said the move is part of efforts to ensure compliance with existing laws governing citizenship and travel documentation.
