Actress Jaime King and her husband, Austin Sosa, are headed for divorce, just months after quietly tying the knot and only seven months after publicly announcing their engagement.

Court documents obtained by PEOPLE reveal that Sosa, an investor, filed for divorce on Thursday, January 22. The filing comes as a surprise to many fans, especially after King’s representative confirmed in July 2025 that the actress and banker were engaged.

The couple had reportedly kept their marriage private, making news of their separation all the more unexpected.

King was previously married to filmmaker Kyle Newman from 2007 to 2020. Their divorce proceedings were finalized in 2023 after a prolonged legal battle.

Neither King nor Sosa has publicly commented on the reasons behind their split.
