Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a stern warning to lawyers and litigants against attempting to influence judicial decisions, saying such conduct will not be tolerated.

The warning followed the granting of N500 million bail each to Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), his wife, Bashir Asabe, and their son, Abubakar Abdulaziz, who are standing trial over allegations of money laundering.

Speaking in court, Justice Nwite cautioned that any attempt to approach him outside the courtroom to sway proceedings would be firmly resisted.

“Before concluding, I want to admonish and warn counsel and litigants that all judges are not the same,” he said, emphasising the importance of respecting judicial independence.

The judge’s remarks underscore ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary amid high-profile cases attracting public attention.
