African Knockout (AKO), Africa’s leading mixed martial arts promotion founded by Nigerian UFC champion Kamaru Usman, has signed a landmark broadcast partnership with SuperSport to expand the sport’s reach across the continent.
Under the agreement, SuperSport will serve as the exclusive linear broadcaster of AKO events in Sub-Saharan Africa, offering fans live fight nights, in-depth features, and episodic content highlighting top fighters from more than 21 African nations.
Speaking on the deal, Usman said the partnership is about “unlocking the full potential of African MMA” and inspiring a new generation of champions. SuperSport CEO Rendani Ramovha emphasized the alignment with the network’s mission to showcase world-class sports content and uplift African talent, while AKO Partnerships Director Jeremy Bean called the collaboration a “defining moment” for the growth of Pan-African MMA.
