Bayern Munich launched their Bundesliga title defence in emphatic fashion with a 6-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena, as Harry Kane stole the show with a stunning hat-trick. Michael Olise netted twice while Luis Díaz marked his league debut with his first goal for the Bavarians, underlining the champions’ firepower under Vincent Kompany.

After a scrappy opening, Olise broke the deadlock with a precise finish from a tight angle before Díaz’s thunderous strike doubled the lead. Olise then grabbed his brace after a dazzling solo effort, leaving Leipzig’s defence in disarray. In the second half, Bayern’s counter-attacking pace punished the visitors’ high line, with Díaz teeing up Kane for his first goal of the campaign. Leipzig thought they had pulled one back through Antonio Nusa, but VAR ruled it out for a free-kick infringement.

Kane then sealed the victory in style, scoring two goals in quick succession – a long-range strike and a composed finish from Kim Min-jae’s pass – to complete his first hat-trick of the season. With Olise tormenting Leipzig’s defence and Kane reaffirming his world-class finishing, Bayern sent a strong statement that they remain the team to beat in Germany’s top flight.
