Kano Community in Distress as Bandits Abduct Eight Residents in Midnight Raid

At least eight persons have been abducted in a fresh attack on Biresawa village in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, deepening fears over the rising wave of insecurity across northern communities. According to local sources, the bandits stormed the village between 11pm and midnight on Monday, targeting homes and seizing two males and six females before fleeing into the night.

A resident, Kabiru Usman, whose wife, daughter, and several relatives were among those taken, recounted the terrifying moment the attackers invaded through neighbouring Tsundu village. He described the assailants as heavily armed and on foot, noting that villagers attempted to resist but were overpowered by the superior firepower of the bandits. The abductions have left families devastated as there has been no information on the victims’ whereabouts.

Local authorities were alerted ahead of the attack after warnings circulated that armed groups were moving toward the area, prompting residents to contact both police and military units.
