Post-harvest losses in Kano State have fallen by 51%, the Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) announced. Coordinator Abdulrasheed Kofarmata said the improvement comes from better storage facilities, farmer training, and climate-smart agricultural technologies.
The initiative has benefited over 477,000 farmers across 44 local government areas, boosting average income by ₦972,462 per hectare. KSADP also supported production clusters, seed systems, and agro-processing infrastructure, leading to significant yield gains in rice, maize, sorghum, millet, and vegetables.
“This achievement demonstrates how targeted interventions can enhance food security and farmer livelihoods in Kano,” Kofarmata said. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
