In a rapid political development, lawmakers of the NNPP in Kano State, along with 44 local government chairpersons and commissioners, have announced their support for the defection of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the APC.

Former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, confirmed to Aminiya newspaper that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, together with the local government leaders and commissioners, will be joining the APC shortly.

Rurum stated that he met with the governor on Sunday to discuss the plan for the defection, and assured that their formal reception into the APC will take place soon.
