Kano State Youth and Sports Commissioner Mustapha Kwankwaso Resigns

The Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned from his position as Commissioner. This was contained in the resignation letter he issued on Monday, 26 January 2026.

In the statement, Mustapha Kwankwaso expressed his gratitude to the Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of the state while holding the office. He also expressed hope that youth and sports affairs in Kano State would continue to receive attention and conveyed best wishes to the government and the people of the state.

This development comes amid political tensions between his father, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
