The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, has revealed that key members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are set to officially join the ruling party in the coming days.
Yilwatda made the disclosure during a meeting with APC stakeholders in Jos, Plateau State, where he announced that notable figures from ADC would be received into the party next week.
According to him, the APC has been witnessing a steady influx of new members from opposition parties, adding that some individuals who had earlier left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ADC have now completed what he described as their “medicals” and are returning to the APC.
The APC chairman further hinted that in about two weeks, another high-profile personality from the ADC would be unveiled as a new member of the ruling party.
“Next week, I will be receiving some notable figures from the ADC. More people are coming. More senators are joining; more governors and more members of the National Assembly,” Yilwatda stated.
He assured that the APC remains open and inclusive, stressing that every new entrant into the party would enjoy equal rights and opportunities as existing members.
“From the day you join APC, you have equal rights. Whether you arrive today, tomorrow, or next week, you are part and parcel of the design we are putting in place to benefit our people at the state level,” he added.
The announcement comes amid growing reports of mass defections across several states, with thousands of members from both the ADC and PDP reportedly moving to the APC in recent weeks. Political analysts view the trend as part of a broader realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
