King Charles and Queen Camilla to Meet Pope Leo on Rescheduled Vatican Visit

King Charles and Queen Camilla are set to make an official state visit to Vatican City, where they will meet Pope Leo in what is expected to be a highly symbolic encounter. The trip comes after their previously scheduled April visit was postponed due to the late Pope Francis’ ill health. Instead, the royal couple met privately with Francis just days before his death on April 9.

The visit marks King Charles’ first formal audience with Pope Leo, who has already struck a cordial relationship with the British royal family. The Pope recently sent a special tribute following the death of Katherine, Duchess of Kent, whose funeral mass made history as the first Catholic funeral for a royal family member in modern times.

The meeting is expected to highlight the deepening ties between the Vatican and the British monarchy, underscoring themes of faith, tradition, and unity at a time of transition for both institutions.
