President Bola Tinubu has invited NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso to the Presidential Villa, following a meeting with Governor Abba Yusuf on Monday. The invitation comes amid efforts to consolidate political alliances ahead of the 2026 elections.

Governor Yusuf met with President Tinubu to finalise his defection plan and make a last-minute push to bring Kwankwaso into the APC fold. The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was closely watched by political observers as a significant development in the ongoing realignment of parties.

The session was attended by key political figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, APC National Chairman Yilwatda Nentawe, and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
