The Lagos State Government has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with private investors to strengthen recycling and waste-to-wealth initiatives focused on plastics and tyres.

The agreements, announced during the 11th Lagos International Climate Change Summit, aim to advance the state’s shift toward a circular economy and reduce landfill waste.

Under the deals:

HAK Waste Ltd. will set up a bottle recycling and recovery system with a deposit-refund scheme under the Extended Producer Responsibility policy.

Haggai Logistics Ltd. will establish a tyre recycling facility using automated, eco-friendly technologies.

Mondo 4 Africa will convert non-recyclable plastics into sustainable fuel and other valuable materials.

Officials said the projects will create jobs, attract green investments, and improve environmental sustainability. Implementation timelines and facility details are expected soon. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
