Global and regional energy stakeholders will convene in Lagos for the sixth West Africa LPG Expo 2025, a flagship event aimed at advancing West Africa’s clean energy transition and discussing the economic benefits of compressed natural gas (CNG).

Scheduled for March 3–4, 2025, the expo will feature discussions on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and CNG as transformative energy solutions for the region. The event director, Jeffery Leung, stated that the expo seeks to foster innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in the energy sector.

“With a proven track record of connecting thousands of industry professionals, LPG Expo continues to champion the transition to cleaner energy worldwide,” Leung said.

A key focus of the event will be Nigeria’s Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI), which aims to grow the number of natural gas vehicles in the country to one million by 2026.

Leung emphasized that this initiative highlights the economic, environmental, and energy independence benefits of CNG adoption. Running alongside the expo will be the 2nd CNG Africa Nigeria 2025, underscoring Nigeria’s role in accelerating CNG integration into its energy mix.

Neighbouring countries such as Ghana, Senegal, and Ivory Coast are also leveraging LPG to meet Africa’s 2030 clean cooking goals and reduce reliance on biomass, further solidifying the importance of regional collaboration.

This year’s edition is expected to be the largest in the expo’s history, featuring over 100 exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge LPG and CNG technologies and more than 50 expert speakers, including government officials, global investors, energy consultants, and key industry players. It will also feature influential conference sessions and high-level networking opportunities for stakeholders.

The expo is supported by key industry bodies, including the Nigeria Liquefied and Compressed Gas Association, Nigerian Gas Association, and the Paris-based World Liquid Gas Association, reaffirming its role as a leading platform for promoting LPG and CNG adoption in the region.

As Africa’s second-largest LPG producer, Nigeria is playing a pivotal role in integrating LPG into its energy framework. Under the Nigerian Energy Transition Plan, which targets net-zero emissions by 2060, the country has made significant investments in LPG infrastructure to enhance production, reduce imports, and expand access.

With the West Africa LPG Expo 2025, Nigeria is set to strengthen its leadership in the region’s clean energy revolution, fostering innovation and investment in sustainable energy solutions.
