The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) has recognised 30 professional drivers for exceptional performance in its 2025 evaluations. The award ceremony, held at the STO Resource Centre in Alausa, highlighted drivers who excelled in both oral and practical tests.
This year’s theme, “From Wheel to Wealth,” emphasized driving as a pathway to economic empowerment. Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, noted that professional driving contributes significantly to community development and offers a route to financial stability.
LASDRI’s General Manager, Afusat Tiamiyu, said the awards are part of efforts to promote safe and responsible driving across Lagos. Guest lecturer Prof. Bamidele Badejo urged drivers to uphold professionalism and discipline on the road.
The institute is also intensifying its training drive, targeting 80,000 drivers for safety and competency programmes by the end of 2025.
The honoured drivers were commended for demonstrating high standards and serving as role models within the transport sector. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
