The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya has deported 13 migrants, including seven Nigerians, three Bangladeshis, and three Ghanaians, who were detained at the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre. The deportees were flown out of the country through Benina International Airport in Benghazi.

Migrant Rescue Watch, an organization monitoring migration activities, confirmed the deportations on their social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. According to the statement, the migrants were deported for violating Libyan immigration laws.
“DCIM deported 13 migrants (3 Bangladeshis, 3 Ghanaians, and 7 Nigerians) from the Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Centre via Benina International Airport in Benghazi. All individuals were deported for violating laws in force in the Libyan state,” the organization stated.
Libya, a transit point for migrants aiming to reach Europe, has intensified efforts to address illegal migration, with DCIM regularly detaining and deporting individuals found to be in violation of local immigration regulations. The deportation underscores the challenges migrants face in Libya, which continues to grapple with complex migration issues and border control.
