Lizzo is back in the legal spotlight — this time accused of copyright infringement over a song that hasn’t even been officially released. The GRC Trust is suing the Grammy winner and Atlantic Records, claiming her 2025 track “I’m Goin’ In Till October,” also known as “Good Jeans,” unlawfully samples their composition “Win or Lose (We Tried).”
According to court filings, the trust alleges Lizzo and her team lifted both instrumental and vocal elements from their work without permission, despite failed negotiations for a sampling deal. The lawsuit argues the superstar knowingly used the material for online promotion and exposure.
Lizzo’s camp responded with surprise, emphasizing that the track was never commercially released or monetized. Still, the GRC Trust is pushing for damages and an injunction to block any future use of the disputed song, setting the stage for another high-profile music industry battle.
