Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has dismissed concerns over a heated exchange between himself and Victor Osimhen during Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations clash against Mozambique, describing the incident as a normal part of the game.

The brief altercation occurred during Nigeria’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the second round of the 2025 AFCON on Monday. The result secured the Super Eagles’ place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Osimhen was the standout performer in the match, netting two goals, while Lookman and Akor Adams added one apiece to complete the dominant win.

Speaking after the encounter, Lookman downplayed the incident with his teammate, stressing that such moments are common in competitive football and do not reflect any deeper issues within the squad.

The convincing performance further underlined Nigeria’s attacking strength as the team continues its quest for continental glory.
