French President Emmanuel Macron has assured Nigeria of increased military and strategic support in its fight against terrorism and other security threats.
The commitment followed his recent conversation with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during which both leaders discussed rising security concerns across Nigeria, especially the persistent terrorist activities in the northern region.
In a statement shared on Sunday, President Macron reaffirmed France’s solidarity with Nigeria, noting that Paris stands ready to deepen cooperation in intelligence sharing, counter-terror operations, and regional stability initiatives.
He emphasized that France will “intensify its assistance” as Nigeria continues to confront multiple security challenges.
