Manchester City turned on the style at the Etihad as they thrashed Burnley 5–1, with a devastating second-half display sealing the points.

City got off to a strange start when Maxime Estève’s own goal handed them an early lead, but Burnley hit back through Quentin Hartman to level the match before the break. The first half was scrappy, with City struggling to find their rhythm against a brave Burnley side.

Late on, Erling Haaland put the icing on the cake with a clinical brace, crushing any hope of a Burnley comeback.
