Manchester City continued their impressive Champions League form with a composed 2–0 victory over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Tuesday night. Pep Guardiola’s men were in control from the outset, striking twice in the first half before expertly managing the game to secure all three points away from home.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 17th minute, finishing coolly after a precise pass from Rico Lewis. Bernardo Silva then doubled the lead in the 40th minute, slotting home from a Savinho assist to cap off a slick attacking move. Villarreal struggled to cope with City’s tempo, picking up early bookings for Alfonso Pedraza and Santiago Mourino as frustration grew within the Spanish side.

The second half saw City ease into game management mode, rotating heavily while keeping Villarreal at bay. Despite efforts from substitutes Álex Moleiro and Ayoze Pérez, the hosts failed to break through City’s disciplined defense. With Bernardo Silva dictating play and Haaland leading the line effectively, the Premier League champions sealed another professional European performance — one that underscored their status as firm contenders for the title once again.
