Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has called on Nigerians to reflect on Allah’s power to fulfill His promises to mankind. He also reminded citizens of their duty to consistently follow Allah’s guidance.
The governor gave this admonition during the Maolud Nabbiy celebration (the birth of Prophet Muhammad) held at Ilorin township stadium on Monday. He emphasized that the Prophet’s birth was a mercy to all humanity, adding, “His prophethood provided unique guidance and blessings to the world.”
Represented by his Senior Adviser, Alhaji Saadu Salahu, the governor stated, “The birth and rise of Prophet Muhammad teach us a crucial lesson about how God can protect and guide us to our destiny, even against overwhelming odds. Despite being an orphan and facing opposition from non-believers, the Prophet fulfilled his mission without blemish.”
“This lesson applies to everyone, especially those facing challenges in life. With sincere faith in Allah, hard work, commitment to communal values, and consistency, we can overcome any hardship and emerge stronger and victorious,” he added.
The governor also prayed, “I ask Allah to forgive our sins, bless our Emir, our communities, and our nation, and grant us ease. May the blessings of Allah remain upon the noble Prophet.”
In his Maolud Nabbiy message, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, congratulated Muslims on the occasion. He urged everyone to reflect on the exemplary life and teachings of the Prophet, which emphasized kindness, compassion, brotherhood, and community relations.
The Speaker also encouraged Nigerians to emulate the Prophet by renewing their patriotism, loving their nation, and supporting their leaders with prayers for Allah’s guidance, to ensure peace, progress, and sustainable development for the country.
