The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has officially assumed her duties at the Speaker’s office in the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex.

She was accompanied by fellow Assembly members as she moved into her new office. A prayer session was held for Speaker Meranda and other members of the House, seeking smooth leadership and effective collaboration among the lawmakers.

During today’s session, Speaker Meranda adjourned plenary to a later date.

Meanwhile, former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, who was removed by a majority of Assembly members on January 13, 2025, amid allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriation, stated on Saturday that he remains the Speaker until due process is followed.
