Meryl Streep Channels Miranda Priestly at Dolce & Gabbana Show for The Devil Wears Prada Sequel

The line between fashion and film blurred in Milan on Saturday as Meryl Streep, in full Miranda Priestly mode, stunned audiences at Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring-Summer 2026 runway show. Wearing oversized sunglasses and a glossy vinyl trench coat from the Italian house, Streep’s icy editor strode into the theater flanked by security and Stanley Tucci, reprising his role as art director Nigel.

Throughout the show, set to the soundtrack of Italian icon Patty Pravo, Streep and Tucci remained in character, scanning models with sharp, knowing glances. The Dolce & Gabbana press office confirmed that the spectacle was filmed for the highly anticipated Devil Wears Prada sequel, currently shooting in Milan. The setting offered a sly wink to fans of the original, recalling Anne Hathaway’s now-famous line: “Can you please spell ‘Gabbana?’”

On the runway, Dolce & Gabbana delivered a tightly curated collection inspired by nightwear: pajama sets sparkling with rhinestones, sheer lace lingerie, and plush jackets in leather, brocade, and animal prints. Accessories included cuddly fur bags, stilettos, and playful slippers.

In a surreal twist, Anna Wintour—the real-life Vogue editor who inspired Streep’s character—sat just across the runway, creating a meta fashion moment as the devil herself “wore Dolce & Gabbana.”

After the show, the designers took a slightly longer bow, savoring a rare cinematic-meets-fashion milestone, while Streep and Tucci slipped backstage. The sequel, due out spring 2026, is already shaping up to be as iconic as its predecessor.
