Boxing legend Mike Tyson has confirmed his return to the ring in 2025, but this time, it’s not exactly what fans might expect, as reported by Marca on Monday.

Tyson, whose last fight ended in a loss to Jake Paul on November 15, 2023, has been hinting at a major comeback, sparking curiosity across the boxing world. The 58-year-old’s last ring appearance was against Paul at AT&T Stadium, a bout that raised eyebrows due to the 29-year age gap between the two fighters.

Despite the scrutiny, Tyson expressed gratitude for the opportunity, even admitting he couldn’t remember much of the fight.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,” Tyson said in a Netflix interview after the fight. “I’m grateful for last night. To have my children see me stand toe-to-toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboys stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”

While the fight with Paul may have marked the symbolic end of Tyson’s boxing career, fans are still holding out hope for one final iconic appearance from the former undisputed heavyweight champion.

If Tyson officially retires, it will mark the end of a career that spanned over four decades, leaving behind an extraordinary 50-7-0 record with 44 knockouts, and a legacy as the youngest heavyweight champion in history.

However, Tyson’s potential return is now being overshadowed by an unexpected new challenger: Joe Gatto, star of Impractical Jokers. Known for his comedic antics, Gatto has jokingly thrown his hat into the ring, announcing he will face Tyson in 2025.

The announcement was made with a mock promotional poster of the two fighters, part of a clever marketing stunt for Gatto’s upcoming health and fitness show.

“Exciting news,” Gatto wrote on Instagram Saturday. “In 2025, I will enter the ring with the legendary @MikeTyson. Training starts 1/1/25, and you can watch it all on @hulu.”

Gatto continued, “My new show #FightingWeight will document my transformation from fat to fit as I push myself to the limit. I appreciate the support of my team to make this happen and, of course, @Bellagio for hosting the event this summer. New year. New me.”

While this may seem like a far-fetched idea, Gatto’s announcement is actually a promotional move for his upcoming show FightingWeight, which will follow his journey to lose weight and improve his fitness in a way fans have never seen before.

As the boxing world continues to speculate about Tyson’s future, it’s clear that whether he steps back for good or embarks on an unexpected new chapter, the excitement surrounding his legacy remains as strong as ever. Tyson’s impact on boxing is undeniable, and his name will forever be etched in the sport’s history.
