Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris Malagi, has joined prominent Nigerians in celebrating the 80th birthday of Professor Jerry Gana, CON.

Professor Gana, a renowned academic, politician and statesman, was honoured over the weekend at an event attended by family members, associates and admirers. A native of Niger State, he is widely regarded as one of the state’s most accomplished sons, with decades of service in education, politics and public administration.

In his tribute, Minister Malagi described Professor Gana as an “icon and statesman” whose contributions to national development remain exemplary. He noted that serving in the same office once held by Professor Gana is a privilege, and expressed his commitment to sustaining and building on the legacy of “brilliant, diligent and patriotic service” established by the former minister.

Malagi wished the elder statesman continued good health and many more years of impactful service to the nation.
