
The Presidency has postponed the screening of seven ministerial nominees to allow them to complete all necessary documentation and pre-screening processes. The screening was originally set for Tuesday on the Senate floor but has now been rescheduled for Wednesday.
This announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Senate Matters.
Last Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu dismissed five ministers and nominated seven new ones for Senate confirmation. Additionally, he reassigned ten ministers to new portfolios and appointed seven new ministers for confirmation.
The nominees include Bianca Odumegu-Ojukwu for Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Nentawe Yilwatda for Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Maigari Dingyadi for Minister of Labour and Employment, and Jumoke Oduwole for Minister of Industry. Idi Maiha has been nominated for the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
The Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio, is expected to screen the seven nominees on Wednesday.
