The Minister of Art, Culture and Tourism, Hannatu Musawa, has downplayed the political influence of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, saying he lacks the capacity to significantly sway votes in the North-West in a manner that could undermine President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s prospects in the 2027 general election.

Speaking on the evolving political landscape ahead of the next electoral cycle, Musawa stated that El-Rufai does not command the level of grassroots support required to pose a serious electoral threat to the President in the region.

According to her, President Tinubu’s political standing in the North-West remains firm, anchored on party structures, broad alliances, and ongoing governance reforms that continue to resonate with voters.

Her remarks come amid increasing political permutations and alignments as parties and key actors position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
