Senator Simon Lalong, representing Plateau South, has officially declared the end of his leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State following the defection of Governor Caleb Mutfwang from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, confirmed Governor Mutfwang’s entry into the party on Friday, marking a significant political realignment in the state.
Speaking on the development, Lalong said, “My tenure ends today,” acknowledging the transition of leadership within the party to the newly inducted governor.
The defection is expected to reshape the political landscape in Plateau State ahead of upcoming elections.
