The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has attributed the recent reduction in petrol prices to the successful implementation of the naira-for-crude deal, a strategic initiative that has helped the company manage costs amid global oil price volatility.

In a statement released Monday, the refinery emphasised its commitment to maintaining affordable and stable fuel prices for Nigerian consumers despite fluctuating international crude oil markets. The communication was signed by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery.

“We are immensely grateful to President Bola Tinubu for making this possible through the commendable naira-for-crude initiative, which has enabled us to consistently reduce the price of petroleum products for the benefit of all Nigerians,” the statement said.

The refinery highlighted that this pricing approach demonstrates its dedication to operational efficiency and sustainability while delivering reliable, high-quality petroleum products.

Aligning with the Federal Government’s ‘Nigeria First Policy’, Dangote Refinery underscores the significance of prioritising domestically produced goods and services. Operating the world’s largest single-train refinery, the company contributes substantially to Nigeria’s energy security, foreign exchange savings, and overall economic resilience.

“Our approach aligns with the objectives of the Federal Government’s ‘Nigeria First Policy’, which promotes the prioritisation of locally-produced goods and services,” the statement added.

This initiative is also seen as an integral part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focused on addressing the nation’s economic challenges and enhancing the welfare of Nigerians.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its promise to stakeholders — including consumers, partners, and the government — of continuous operational excellence and dedication to national service.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of our local refining capacity are fully realised and enjoyed by the Nigerian populace. We will continue to prioritise affordability, quality, and national interest in every facet of our work,” the statement concluded.
