Italian champions Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Brentford right-back Michael Kayode during the January transfer window, as manager Antonio Conte looks to add depth behind captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
According to SpazioNapoli, the Serie A leaders have yet to make a formal approach or establish contact with either Brentford or the player. Kayode, who is under contract with the Premier League club until 2030, is expected to command a significant fee should Napoli pursue a deal.
The 21-year-old Italian defender endured a mixed 2024/25 campaign but has started the current season strongly, making seven appearances for Brentford. While he is yet to record an assist, his long throws, pace, and impressive work rate are said to align with Conte’s tactical vision.
Napoli are also monitoring other right-back options, but Kayode is believed to be among their top targets as they aim to reinforce the position in January.
Under Conte’s leadership last season, Napoli captured their fourth Serie A title—and second in three years—thanks to the coach’s tactical mastery and key performances from stars like Scott McTominay.
The club strengthened further over the summer, bringing in Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City, Rasmus Hojlund on loan from Manchester United, and Noah Lang from PSV Eindhoven, as they look to defend their league crown.
Napoli currently sit atop the Serie A table with 15 points from six matches, having lost only to AC Milan. Conte’s men return to action on October 18, when they face Torino.
