The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reduced the flight ban on ace Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1, to one month. The same leniency applies to Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba of ValueJet, whose licenses will be restored after the same period.
According to the NCAA, the decision follows a review of the incident that led to disciplinary measures. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has also announced that KWAM 1 will serve as an ambassador for proper airport security protocol, aimed at promoting compliance among travelers.
The initial sanctions had sparked discussions across the aviation and entertainment industries, with many calling for a balanced resolution that reinforces rules while encouraging education and cooperation.
