The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, a prominent Lagos-based hotelier, following a major drug seizure in the city.

Ibemesi, also known as Chisco Bee, is the Managing Director/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig. Ltd. He was apprehended at his Daisy Garden Hotel on Agbeke Street, Isolo, Lagos, after weeks of surveillance by a special operations unit of the NDLEA.

A subsequent search of his warehouse at Pius Ezeobi Street, also in Isolo, led to the recovery of 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of cannabis, weighing a total of 1,762.8 kilograms. The seized cannabis reportedly included “Loud,” a potent strain of the drug.

The NDLEA described the arrest as a significant blow to drug trafficking networks operating in Lagos, noting the sheer volume of the seizure as one of the largest in recent times.
