The National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), one of President Bola Tinubu’s flagship social safety net initiatives, has disbursed over ₦86 billion as part of its drive to secure the educational future of Nigeria’s youth.

According to figures released as of August 18, more than ₦36 billion has gone directly to students as stipends, easing financial burdens and enabling access to higher education. The initiative is designed to provide critical financial support for young Nigerians, ensuring that funding challenges do not derail their academic pursuits.

Officials said the programme reflects the administration’s commitment to investing in the next generation, describing NELFUND as being “on the march for Nigeria’s younger generation.”
