NEMA Receives 167 Vulnerable Nigerians Returned from Libya

On Wednesday, September 4, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Lagos Territorial Office (LTO) welcomed 167 Nigerian returnees from Libya. The group, consisting of 77 male adults, 69 female adults, 10 children, and 11 infants, arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s Cargo Terminal at approximately 15:51 hours.

This evacuation was part of the humanitarian voluntary return initiative led by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), with NEMA and other stakeholders coordinating the effort. The returnees traveled aboard an Al-Buraq Boeing 787-500, registration number 5A-DMG.

NEMA’s official X handle disclosed the details of the return, underscoring the agency’s commitment to aiding vulnerable Nigerians abroad.
