Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EMS Brazil and Oaks Medical Limited to boost local pharmaceutical manufacturing and industrial cooperation. The signing was hosted by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and presided over by the Coordinating Minister, highlighting the government’s commitment to turning diplomatic agreements into actionable partnerships.
The MoU builds on discussions between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during President Tinubu’s recent visit to Brazil. Both leaders emphasized the need for collaboration in pharmaceutical development, vaccine production, and broader industrial growth.
The agreement is expected to enhance Nigeria’s capacity to locally produce essential medicines and vaccines, reduce dependence on imports, and strengthen the country’s healthcare security.
