The Federal Government has announced a major milestone in its public sector reforms, revealing that 31 ministries and extra-ministerial departments have successfully transitioned to a fully digital, paperless system. The development was unveiled on Wednesday in Abuja at the Paperless Civil Service Gala, marking a significant shift in how government business is conducted.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the move as a transformative step toward efficiency, transparency, and faster service delivery across the federal workforce. According to her, the adoption of digital workflows is already reducing delays, cutting costs, and improving record management within participating ministries.
The Federal Government has set December 31, 2025, as the deadline to achieve a completely paperless civil service nationwide. With more ministries expected to come on board in the coming months, the announcement signals an accelerated push toward modern governance and a technology-driven public sector.
