Nigeria Sees Modest Recovery in Oil Output with 7% Rise

Share

Nigeria’s oil production recorded a modest recovery in 2025, rising by 7 per cent to about 1.65 million barrels per day (mbpd) in the first eleven months of the year.
The increase represents an improvement from approximately 1.54 mbpd recorded in the corresponding period of 2024, supported by better operational stability and gradual gains in the upstream sector.
However, output remained below the 2025 budget benchmark of about 2.06 mbpd, highlighting ongoing challenges such as oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and infrastructure constraints. Production levels were relatively stable toward the end of the period, averaging around 1.6 mbpd in November.
Industry watchers say sustained reforms and increased investment will be key to achieving stronger growth in Nigeria’s oil output going forward. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
