As part of his engagement, the minister also visited Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH in Duisburg, where discussions focused on investment expansion, technology transfer, and sustainable steel production. The visit underscored Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships to modernise its steel industry.

The engagement forms part of Nigeria’s broader economic diplomacy strategy aimed at attracting Foreign Direct Investment and repositioning the steel and aluminium value chain as a central pillar of the country’s industrialisation agenda.

German executives expressed interest in potential partnerships centered on efficient, environmentally responsible manufacturing and skills development, further strengthening economic cooperation between Nigeria and Germany.
