In a bid to address pressing national issues, the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) held its monthly meeting today at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja. This month’s meeting is particularly significant as it includes the participation of traditional rulers, represented under the National Council of Traditional Rulers.
While the formal agenda remains undisclosed, sources close to the gathering suggest that the discussions will focus on the prevailing socio-political and economic challenges facing the country. Governors are expected to seek the perspectives of traditional rulers, aiming to formulate policies that will help address the needs and concerns of communities nationwide.
Key figures attending the meeting include NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak, as well as Governors Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), and Uba Sani (Kaduna). Also present are prominent traditional rulers, including the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and the Etsu Nupe Yahaya Abubakar.
