Nigerians Face Higher Bus, Air, and Okada Fares in October

Transport fares in Nigeria rose in October 2025, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Intercity buses: ₦8,170.21 on average, up 1.55% month-on-month.
Air travel: ₦131,557.53 per trip, up 1.32%.
Okadas: ₦780.00, up 5.74%, a 45.5% increase year-on-year.
Water transport: ₦1,851.28, up 3.11%.

Regional highlights: Oyo had the highest bus fares, Lagos led intra-city rates, and Rivers recorded the highest airfares.
