The Nigerian Meteorological to Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather alert, warning of three consecutive days of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall from Thursday through Saturday.

According to the agency, the weather system is expected to affect multiple states across the country, with increased risk of flash floods in flood-prone areas. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, including avoiding waterlogged roads, clearing blocked drainage channels, and securing outdoor items.

NiMet further cautioned that the intensity of the rainfall could disrupt transportation, agricultural activities, and power supply in some regions. The public is urged to stay updated through official NiMet bulletins and follow safety guidance from local emergency agencies.

The forecast underscores the need for proactive disaster preparedness, particularly in communities vulnerable to flooding.
