In preparation for the highly anticipated petrol loading at the Dangote Refinery on Sunday, September 15, 2024, NNPC Ltd. has initiated the deployment of trucks to the refinery’s fuel loading gantry in Ibeju-Lekki.
As of Saturday afternoon, over 100 trucks have already been mobilized by NNPC Ltd., with hundreds more expected to arrive in the coming hours. This move marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to enhance the distribution of petroleum products across Nigeria.

The Dangote Refinery, Africa’s largest, is set to play a pivotal role in addressing the country’s fuel demands, and the petrol loading scheduled for Sunday is a major milestone in its operational journey.
The deployment of trucks by NNPC Ltd. is aimed at ensuring swift and efficient distribution once loading begins, furthering the government’s commitment to improving fuel availability and reducing dependency on imports.
This initiative also forms part of broader efforts to stabilize the petroleum market in Nigeria, which has been affected by fluctuating supply and demand dynamics in recent years.
NNPC Ltd. is expected to coordinate closely with the Dangote Refinery to ensure that the loading and distribution processes run smoothly, with a focus on reaching various parts of the country as quickly as possible.
