Nuno Espírito Santo has left his role as Nottingham Forest head coach after 21 months in charge, with the decision confirmed late Monday night. His departure comes in the wake of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to West Ham, Forest’s final game before the September international break. The club, currently sitting 10th in the Premier League after three matches, is now moving quickly to secure a replacement.

According to sources, former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has emerged as a strong candidate for the vacancy. Initial contact has already been made, and there is growing optimism that an agreement could be reached. The 60-year-old Australian was dismissed by Spurs at the end of last season after a poor domestic campaign that saw them finish 17th, but he salvaged pride by guiding the club to a historic Europa League triumph, ending their long trophy drought.

Forest are keen to finalize an appointment before their trip to Arsenal on Saturday, with Postecoglou now seen as the frontrunner. His arrival would bring experience and a proven record of success in European competition, as the club looks to build on a steady start to the new season.
