The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed the derailment of its Kaduna-bound AKTS train service at about 11:09 a.m. near KM 49, between Kubwa and Asham stations.
Managing Director Kayode Opeifa announced that emergency rescue teams, medical personnel, and nearby hospitals have been mobilised, while a full security presence is on ground.
Efforts are ongoing to move all passengers safely back to Abuja.
“Kindly bear with us at this moment,” the NRC appealed.
