Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, has urged state governments to support the developmental programmes championed by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to expand their impact on vulnerable women and youths across the country.
Obasa made the appeal while speaking with State House correspondents after a meeting with the First Lady at her office in the State House, Abuja. He said ongoing interventions under her programmes have the capacity to reach more beneficiaries if supported by governments at the subnational level.
The Speaker commended the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, describing it as a transformative platform that is already improving the lives of the less privileged and creating opportunities for sustainable development.
He added that his visit was also to convey his warm regards to the First Lady during the overlapping period of Ramadan and Lent.
