Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticized the Federal Government following the conviction of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Obi described the handling of the matter as counterproductive and urged the government to pursue dialogue and political solutions to address the underlying issues.

Obi emphasized that lasting peace and national cohesion can only be achieved through constructive engagement, inclusivity, and addressing the grievances of affected communities. He called on all stakeholders to prioritize dialogue over force to prevent further tensions.
