A groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing environmental sustainability in Nigeria has been set in motion following a high-level meeting led by Group Chief Executive Adewale Tinubu and Ademola Ogunbanjo, President/CEO of Oando Clean Energy Limited (OCEL). The meeting, which also included representatives from Beijing Geoenviron Engineering and Technology Ltd. (BGE), outlined strategic plans to drive environmental transformation through innovative partnerships.

As part of the initiative, Ademola Ogunbanjo held talks with the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, and engaged with key environmental agencies, including the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). These discussions underscore OCEL’s commitment to fostering collaborations with BGE to address pressing environmental challenges.

The partnership is focused on converting waste to energy and alternative fuels—an approach poised to not only tackle waste management issues but also stimulate economic growth. By leveraging advanced waste-to-energy technologies, the initiative aims to create job opportunities and drive Nigeria closer to a sustainable and prosperous future.

“These visits are about more than collaboration,” stated Ogunbanjo. “They’re about creating innovative solutions that benefit the economy and the environment. This is the future of sustainability in Nigeria.”

The partnership highlights OCEL’s dedication to leading transformative efforts in renewable energy and sustainable practices, reinforcing its position as a pioneer in Africa’s clean energy space.
